Everything you need to know about running your shop

Leaving AdaptiveShop Pro

We want you to succeed. If your business has grown beyond what AdaptiveShop is designed for, we make it easy to take your product data to your next platform.

Exporting to Shopify

Pro merchants can export their product catalog in Shopify-compatible CSV format.

What's included:

  • All products with descriptions
  • Variants (SKU, price, stock, attributes)
  • Categories
  • Product images (as URLs)

Not included: Orders, customers, shop styling (these are not portable between platforms)

How to Export

  1. Go to Settings Migration Assistance
  2. Click "Download Shopify CSV"
  3. In Shopify Admin, go to Products Import
  4. Upload the CSV file and confirm the import

Shopify's import guide

Important

Make sure your new store is fully set up and you're happy with it before canceling your subscription and deleting your account. Your data is not recoverable once deleted.

Note: Shopify's import format may change over time. For Shopify-specific questions, please contact Shopify support directly.

Data Retention

To manage platform resources and comply with data protection best practices, AdaptiveShop automatically removes inactive accounts. This policy helps keep the platform secure and efficient.

Incomplete Setup Accounts

Accounts that do not complete the required setup within 60 days will be automatically removed.

Required setup steps:

  • Connect your Stripe account
  • Add at least one product

Timeline:

  • Day 45: Warning email sent
  • Day 60: Account marked for deletion
  • Day 90: Permanent deletion

Lapsed Subscription Accounts

Accounts with inactive subscriptions (canceled, suspended, or unpaid) for more than 12 months will be automatically removed.

Timeline:

  • Month 11: Warning email sent
  • Month 12: Account marked for deletion
  • Month 13: Permanent deletion

Payment Dispute Suspension

If you file a payment dispute (chargeback) with your bank for your AdaptiveShop subscription, your account will be immediately suspended as an automatic fraud protection measure.

Your Shop Goes Offline

When suspended, customers cannot access your shop or make purchases until the dispute is resolved.

How to resolve:

  • Withdraw the dispute: Contact your bank to withdraw the dispute. Your account will be automatically reactivated.
  • Billing issue? Contact us at support@adaptiveshop.ai before disputing. We're happy to help resolve any billing concerns.
  • Want to cancel? You can cancel your subscription anytime from Settings. Disputes are not necessary to cancel.

Your Data is Safe

All your products, orders, and settings are preserved during suspension. Once the dispute is resolved or withdrawn, your account will be automatically reactivated.

Reactivating Your Account

You can reactivate your account at any time before permanent deletion:

  • Incomplete setup: Log in and complete the required setup steps
  • Lapsed subscription: Log in and resubscribe to any plan
  • Payment dispute: Withdraw the dispute with your bank—your account will be automatically reactivated

Grandfathered Accounts

Accounts with grandfathered status are exempt from automatic cleanup and will not be deleted due to inactivity.

What Gets Deleted

When an account is permanently deleted, all associated data is removed including: products, variants, orders, customer data, analytics, shop customizations, and settings. This action cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting

Stripe Connection Failed

Symptom: "Connect Stripe" button doesn't work or connection fails

Solutions:

  • Make sure you clicked "Authorize access" at the end of Stripe onboarding
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting from Settings
  • Clear browser cache and try again
  • Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)

Checkout Not Working

Symptom: "Checkout" button is disabled or missing

Solutions:

  • Make sure Stripe is connected (Settings Stripe Connection)
  • Complete Contact Information (support email and business name required)
  • Add Shipping Policy and Returns Policy (Settings Shipping and Returns)
  • Check that selected variant has stock available

Images Not Uploading

Symptom: Product or variant images fail to upload

Solutions:

  • Check file size (max 5MB per image)
  • Use supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP
  • Try uploading one image at a time
  • Clear browser cache and try again

Order Confirmation Email Not Received

Symptom: Customer didn't receive order confirmation

Solutions:

  • Check customer's spam/junk folder
  • Verify email address was entered correctly during checkout
  • Check that your support email is set in Settings Contact Information
  • Wait 10-15 minutes (email delivery can be delayed)

POD Orders Not Auto-Fulfilling

Symptom: POD orders aren't being sent to provider automatically

Solutions:

  • Make sure POD provider is connected (Settings Print-on-Demand)
  • Verify "Auto-Fulfill POD Orders" is enabled
  • Check that product SKU matches POD provider's product ID format
  • Review POD provider's webhook configuration

ShipEngine Rate Quotes Failing

Symptom: "Get Shipping Rates" returns error or no rates

Solutions:

  • Verify ShipEngine API key is correct (Settings ShipEngine Integration)
  • Make sure Ship-From Address is complete with all required fields
  • Check package dimensions are realistic (not 0 or negative)
  • Verify customer's shipping address is valid and complete
