Billing & Subscription Policy

1. Subscription Tiers

AdaptiveShop offers three subscription tiers:

  • Basic ($7.99/month): 10 products, 5 variants per product, shop and product pages, AI writing tools
  • Growth ($14.99/month): 50 products, 10 variants per product, 1 dynamic link, AI merchandising, custom domain
  • Pro ($24.99/month): 150 products, unlimited variants, 3 dynamic links, POD integration, categories, CSV export

2. Billing Cycle

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly on the anniversary of your signup date
  • All prices are in USD
  • Payment is processed automatically via Stripe
  • You will receive an email receipt for each payment

3. Upgrades

When you upgrade to a higher tier:

  • Upgrades take effect immediately
  • You are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle
  • All features of your new tier are available instantly
  • Any previously archived items (from a prior downgrade) are automatically restored

4. Downgrades

When you downgrade to a lower tier, we provide a fair transition process:

4.1 48-Hour Notice Period

  • Your store remains fully operational for 48 hours after the downgrade
  • You receive an email detailing what will be archived
  • Use this time to choose which items to keep within your new limits

4.2 Automatic Archiving

After 48 hours, items exceeding your new limits are automatically archived:

  • Products: Archived by position order (items with lower position numbers are kept first)
  • Adaptive Links: Archived by creation date (oldest links are kept first)
  • Variants: Archived by position within each product

4.3 7-Day Grace Period

  • After archiving, you have 5 additional days to swap items
  • You can restore an archived item by archiving an active one in its place
  • After this period, your selections are final (until you upgrade)

4.4 Data Preservation

Important: Archived items are NEVER deleted. All data is preserved in our system. Upgrade at any time to restore everything instantly.

5. Cancellation

  • Cancel anytime from Settings → Billing → Manage Billing
  • Access continues until the end of your current billing period
  • After cancellation, your shop goes offline but data is preserved for 30 days
  • Resubscribe within 30 days to restore your shop completely

6. Refunds

  • 14-day money-back guarantee on new subscriptions
  • If you have not processed any customer orders, you can request a refund directly from Settings → Billing
  • Subscription fees are non-refundable after the 14-day period or after processing customer orders
  • Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days

7. Payment Methods

  • We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe
  • Payment information is stored securely by Stripe (PCI compliant)
  • We never store your full card number
  • You can update your payment method anytime via the billing portal

8. Failed Payments

If your payment fails:

  • We automatically retry for up to 7 days
  • Your account status changes to "Past Due"
  • You receive email notifications about the failed payment
  • After 7 days of failed retries, your account is suspended
  • Your shop goes offline until payment is resolved
  • All data is preserved - update your payment method to restore access

9. Payment Disputes

If you file a payment dispute (chargeback) with your bank or credit card company:

  • Your account is immediately suspended as automatic fraud protection
  • Your shop goes offline and customers cannot make purchases
  • All your data is preserved and accessible via your dashboard

How to Resolve

  • Withdraw the dispute: Contact your bank to withdraw the dispute. Your account will be automatically reactivated.
  • Wait for resolution: If the dispute is resolved in our favor, your account is automatically reactivated.

10. Special Tiers

  • Grandfathered Accounts: Founding members with lifetime Pro access at no charge
  • Gift Subscriptions: Pro access via promotional codes, no expiration unless specified

11. Price Changes

  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
  • Existing subscribers are grandfathered at their current rate for 12 months after any price change
  • You will be notified by email of any price changes
